We are so excited to rally behind our team of wellness employees from the Greater Wyoming Valley Area YMCA! Thanks to Myzone for creating this employee team challenge, our YMCA was able to make a donation to Augie’s Quest and enter our team to exercise for a cure for ALS!
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, is a progressive nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, causing loss of muscle control. ALS is often called Lou Gehrig’s disease, after the baseball player who was diagnosed with it.
We know ALS is a disease we can tackle; a problem we can solve. ALS is curable, it’s just underfunded. Augie’s Quest to Cure ALS is dedicated to changing the experience of people living with ALS. They raise the funds and awareness urgently needed to advance cutting-edge research, fast-track effective treatments, and ultimately, find a cure for this devastating disease.
Meet Your Team
Our team – comprised of trainers and instructors from our Pittston and Wilkes-Barre locations – is using Myzone to track their effort when exercising to earn MEPs (Myzone Effort Points). Together they working hard to earn a total of 10,000 MEPs throughout a six-week period to qualify for prizes.
How has using Myzone influenced your workouts? Using the MyZone belt and work out program really helps me to be accountable – it motivates me to exercise every day. MyZone also helps me to focus on exercising within all the heart rate parameters.
What excites you most about working for the YMCA? I love teaching at the Y because of the all wonderful members and instructors I have met along the way – I also value the many positive contributions that the Y makes to our community.
When and where are we most likely to see you at the YMCA? My favorite room in the Y – the Spinning Room!!
How has using Myzone influenced your workouts? Myzone has motivated me to workout more often.
What excites you most about working for the YMCA? Hearing from members about their fitness advances and how much they enjoy classes excites me the most.
When and where are we most likely to see you at the YMCA? I can be found at the Pittston Y any Monday and Wednesday nights doing classes followed by a dip in the pool, and Saturday morning doing class.
How has using Myzone influenced your workouts? I love the accuracy of the Myzone belt. It’s very motivating to see the results after workouts.
How has using Myzone influenced your workouts? Myzone allows me to monitor my effort level and optimize my workouts. For instance if i have a limited time frame I can maximize my heart rate and get the most out of a short workout and burn the most calories. If I have unlimited time I can focus on target zones to maximize fat burn and muscle recovery then finish strong with HIIT or endurance cardio.
How has using Myzone influenced your workouts? MYzone ensures I am always doing something. It allows me to challenge myself make sure I am putting forth my best effort.
How has using Myzone influenced your workouts? It pushes me to work harder, it’s a great motivator!
