Perfect your swim skills during hour-long private lessons with coach Erin! Lessons will be scheduled around participant and coach availability throughout the month of April. Choose from one day per week (4 lessons) or two days per week (8 lessons).

Our Dolphins swim team is open to swimmers ages 5-8, or those new to competitive swimming. All swimmers must be able to complete one lap (25 yards) of a continuous and recognizable stroke without the need of flotation.

Dolphins will practice 1 hour per day, 5 days per week. Practice days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday starting at 6 pm. We also have practices Sunday at 10 am at the Wilkes-Barre YMCA pool. 

All  swim team practices will happen at the Wilkes-Barre Area High School pool located at 2021 Wolfpack Way, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18705. The pool is located at the very left side of the building, with closest parking being available in Lot C.

Around June, the team does lose access to the Wolfpack pool as the school closes for the summer. Practices will change according to the availability of the YMCA pool. 

There is a $25 registration fee upon signing up your participant. This $25 fee is for our booster club fee. This covers the cost of caps and shirts for each participant. 

In the event that the high school needs to cancel a single day of practice, practice may be able to be moved to the YMCA. As fees are season based, credits/refunds will not be given unless there are extenuating circumstances. All refund and credit requests can only be approved by the Aquatics Coordinator.

Also, the ability to swim over 1,000 yards (or 40 laps) broken, or consecutively, is highly recommended.

Tryouts are required and will take place at our Open House on Saturday, September 21, or during the first week of practices the week of September 30th.

Killer Whales will practice 2 hours per day, 5 days per week. Practice times are dependent on the high school pool availability but will typically start at 5:30 PM.
